Bucha Bug Branding

Throughout this process, our main goal was to make a fun and visually cute brand. We started with a lot of research about what Kombucha is and how it is made. This impacted our product a lot. We used that information to lead to our final designs and differentiations with our competitors. When starting ideas for our logo we knew immediately that we wanted to use a bug in our design. Originally we wanted to use a Japanese beetle, but decided that the bug might not be very attractive in a logo. After researching different visually pleasing beetles and bugs, we chose the ladybug. We even used the ladybug aspects to help create our value proposition, ladybugs = good luck. We also figured that the ladybug design would bring our brand good luck in stores and make the brand very popular. Our ladybug design and research on kombucha made our verbal choices very easy. Most of our verbal section is about how kombucha is gut-healthy and the ladybug is lucky. Everything fell into place very quickly with the decision on the ladybug. Colors would be red and black, and potentially another color for other flavors. The colors really impacted so many of our designs. We had to find different ways of meshing the two reds and off-white to keep cool new ideas for the packaging, website, and even the different logos. Overall we are very happy with how Bucha Bug turned out. This brand really shows that with a little luck, a lot can be created and done
